One of the Association's best known projects is the Eumundi Markets. This started as a way for local people to be given opportunities to sell their products. It has now become a thriving tourist attraction with thousands of people visiting the markets every week. The Association started the development of the markets and continues to manage the ongoing tasks associated with their continued operation and future success. This includes administration, marketing and maintenance of infrastructures on the market site. The Historical Association maintains and operates two other significant buildings in town - The School of Arts and Discover Eumundi. The original School of Arts was built in 1908. The community soon outgrew this building and constructed the current building in 1912. The Hall has always been a focal point for the community. In its early years it was well known for its dances and balls, especially during the war. Red Cross and the Comforts Fund undertook regular fundraising activities from the Hall. Today it hosts a wide range of activities from Yoga and live music to art exhibitions and public meetings. The “Eumundi Independent Theatre” is the major tenant in the building and produces a season of plays every year. Discover Eumundi has an extensive collection of photographs and an impressive natural history collection. Discover Eumundi serves as a research point for the many local people who are interested in finding out about the history of Eumundi. Discover Eumundi is the Information Centre for the Eumundi District and it's surrounds. The Historical Association supports many community groups in town with an annual grants program. Around $50,000 is distributed each year. The Eumundi and District Historical Association plays a vital role in creating the future of the Eumundi Township and is committed to working with the local community.
